We are stoked to reveal that we have signed Melodic tech-rock quintet FIRST SIGNS OF FROST! A band who proudly states on their Twitter that they have been "confusing peoples idea of genre since 2005", the London-based five-piece are nothing short of a feast for the ears.
To coincide with the signing announcement, the band have released a lyric video for their new single 'Look Alive Sunshine', which is taken from upcoming EP 'The Shape Of Things To Come' - set for release August 11th. Check the video out at the bottom of the bottom of this article, or nip straight over to Spotify and be sure to follow the band.
Pre-orders of the new EP have also officially been launched over at Basick Supplies, the Basick Bandcamp page, iTunes and more!
Drawing influence from the likes of Deftones, Tool, to Further Seems Forever and Glassjaw, First Signs Of Frost push the boundaries with their unique blend of technical instrumentation, epic soundscapes and anthemic vocal melodies. Forming in 2004, with a line-up consisting of longtime friends Owen Hughes-Holland (vocals / guitar), Adam Mason (guitar), Will Gates (drums) and Dan Oehlman (bass), the four would then go on to release their consequential debut EP ‘In Our Final Chapter’.
By 2007 FSOF had signed their first deal with Japanese label Zestone Records, and after a successful UK tour supporting metal-core pioneers Exit Ten, they recruited Daniel Tompkins as their main vocalist. The band then began writing their debut album ‘Atlantic’, all whilst securing subsequent tours and major supports with acts such as Deaf Havana, Enter Shikari, Architects, You Me At Six, We Are The Ocean, Senses Fail, Devil Sold His Soul and so forth.
Following a long hiatus since the departure of vocalist Dan Tompkins in 2009, founding member and guitarist Owen Hughes-Holland set out to resurrect the band and teamed up with longtime friend and bassist Andy C Saxton (ex-Cry For Silence), vocalist Daniel Lawrence (ex-Kenai / All Forgotten), Alex Harford (drums) and co-founder Adam Mason (guitar). With a new lease of life, and fresh line-up the band expand and mould their sound, into a more groove and ambient direction, manifesting itself in the aptly titled EP ‘The Shape Of Things To Come’, due for worldwide release on August 11th 2017 through Basick Records.
Of the new EP, vocalist Daniel Lawrence comments:
"Over the past two years we have been quietly and solidly working away to bring something different to the table, a record that not only reflects who we are and the history of the band, but more importantly showcases our future. 'The Shape Of Things To Come' is as poignant an EP title as possible, it is the first of many releases we have planned in the near future and we cannot wait to share this with fans old and new. We hope you enjoy this record as much as have bringing it to life."
'The Shape Of Things To Come' will be released August 11th via Basick - pre-order the CD now at Basick Supplies!
